The Easter Island Foundation. A non-profit organisation for promoting the “conservation and protection of the fragile cultural heritage of Easter Island”. A leading body involved in research on Easter Island, which includes a series of independently published books.

   

Rapa Nui Journal. The twice-yearly journal of the Easter Island Foundation, published since 1986. List of contents for all issues available online.

   

Journal of New Zealand and Pacific Studies. Leading academic journal published twice-yearly and hosted by the University of South Australia.

   

The Easter Island Statue Project. Important long-term project founded in 1982 and led by Jo Anne Van Tilburg, with the aim of recording in detail every moai and Easter Island monolithic sculpture.

   

World Monuments Fund. “Leading independent organisation dedicated to saving the world’s most treasured places”.

Captain Cook Birthplace Museum, Marton, Middlesbrough, UK. Focused on the life and voyages of Captain Cook, with a display for his trip to Easter Island in 1774.

   

Kon-Tiki Museum. Oslo, Norway. Focused on the life and work of Thor Heyerdahl, with significant Easter Island holdings.

   

Museo Antropologico P. Sebastian Englert. Easter Island’s museum in Hanga Roa. The museum houses the William Mulloy Library.

   

Moai Hoa Hakananai’a with its incredible torso carvings at the British Museum. Taken from Rapa Nui in 1868.
